Ise Railway is a private railway that runs around Ise City in Mie Prefecture and provides convenient transportation to Ise Jingu Shrine and other tourist destinations.

To access the Inner Shrine of Ise Jingu, take the Sangu Line from Ise-shi Station and get off at Jingumae Station. To get to the outer shrine, take the Sangu Line to Uji Yamada Station and transfer to a bus.

In addition to Ise City, Taki Station, which is connected to the Kintetsu Suzuka Line, can also be used for access to Kumano Kodo. Around Taki Station, there are two tourist attractions: Iseyama, one of the Kumano Sanzan (three mountains of Kumano), and a sightseeing spot called Ban’yo Kannon.

In addition, the Ise-Shima Liner, which runs through Ise City, connects Ise City Station to Futamiura. Futamiura is home to Futami Koyama Shrine, which is famous as a power spot.

In addition to sightseeing in Ise City, the Ise Railway is convenient for sightseeing around Ise City and is one of the most important means of access for tourists visiting Mie Prefecture.

When purchasing a ticket, you will need to select your destination and type of ticket, such as a one-way or round-trip ticket. You can pay with cash or a credit card.

If you plan on using the Ise Railway frequently during your stay, you may want to consider purchasing an IC card, such as a Suica or Pasmo card, which can be used on multiple transportation systems in Japan. These cards can be purchased and charged with funds at ticket vending machines or ticket counters.

It’s important to note that the Ise Railway operates on a fixed fare system, meaning that the fare is determined by the distance between your starting and ending station, rather than by the time of day or day of the week.
