Hachinohe Station is a Tohoku Shinkansen station located in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. Around the station, there are many natural sightseeing spots and delicious gourmet restaurants for tourists to enjoy.

Hachinohe Castle, a symbol of Hachinohe City, is located near the station. The ruins of this beautiful castle, which evoke a sense of history, are crowded with cherry blossom viewers during the cherry blossom season. The closest tourist information center to Hachinohe Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen Line. It provides comprehensive information on sightseeing spots, transportation (sightseeing cabs, sightseeing buses, rental cars), accommodations, and other tourist attractions in Hachinohe. Also on display in the plaza are miniature floats from the Hachinohe Sanja Grand Festival and a monument to the national treasure, the Gassho Clay Figure. It can be used for waiting and resting.

Kushibiki Hachimangu (櫛引八幡宮)

Kushibiki Hachimangu is a shrine (Hachimangu) located in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. Five of the shrine buildings, including the main hall, are designated as Important Cultural Properties, and armor and other items designated as national treasures and important cultural properties are open to the public at the National Treasure Museum on the shrine grounds. The grounds of the shrine are called “Hachiman-yama,” and are lined with old cedars more than 100 years old.

Tatehana Park (館鼻公園)

Tatehana Park is a city park (neighborhood park) located in Minatomachi, Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. Tatehana Park is an urban park managed by Hachinohe City. The park covers an area of 1.3 ha and is located on high ground on the right bank of the mouth of the Araida River. The park has a 24.2-meter-high observatory, Guretto Tower Minato. It is also famous for its cherry blossoms in the spring season.

Kabushima Shrine (蕪嶋(かぶしま)神社)

Kabushima is an island located in Same-cho, Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. It is a breeding ground for petrels and is designated as a national natural monument. It is also designated as a Sanriku Fukko National Park. The island is called “Kabura-shima,” but reclamation work has been carried out and it is connected to the mainland.

According to shrine legend, Kabura-shima Shrine was originally dedicated to Enoshima Benzaiten in Einin 4 (1269). The three deities of Munakata, Ichisunshima-hime no Mikoto, Takiribi no Mikoto, and Manetohime no Mikoto, have been worshipped as “Kabura-shima no Benten-sama” (Benten of Kabura-shima). Benzaiten is believed to be beneficial for prosperous business and for giving birth to children, but she is also a guardian deity of the fishing industry. In the precincts of the shrine, there is a memorial to a sea cucumber with a tanka poem by Yanagihara Hakuren inscribed on it. Near Kabura-shima Shrine, there is a Kabura-shima Festival held every year on the third Sunday in April.

Guretto Tower Minato (グレットタワーみなと)

An observation tower with an excellent view located on a hilltop park. Tatehana Park’s observation tower is located on a hill at the mouth of the Araida River, which is also known as a cherry blossom viewing spot. The two-story tower stands 24.2 m above the ground at an elevation of 51.2 m, and has a large observation room on the second floor that can accommodate up to 120 people. . It is also open until 21:00 in summer and 19:00 in winter, making it a popular night view spot. In addition to the tower, Tatehana Park has a gazebo, a cherry blossom viewing area, and playground equipment, making it a place for citizens to relax.
