Asahikawa Shijo Station, located in the center of Asahikawa City in Hokkaido, is known as “Asahi Yon” (meaning “four asahi” in Japanese) to the local people. The area surrounding the station is home to many tourist spots and gourmet restaurants, making it an attractive place for foreign tourists as well.
Asahikawa’s representative tourist attractions include Asahiyama Zoo, Tokachi-dake Mountain, Biei and Furano. Furthermore, the Asahikawa Shijo Shopping Street, the heart of Asahikawa City, is located near the station and is lined with a variety of stores. Many of the stores sell fresh and delicious foods such as Hokkaido’s unique marine products and locally grown vegetables, making it a great place to shop for food and souvenirs.
The Asahikawa Shijo Station area is located in the center of Asahikawa City, providing excellent transportation access. In front of the station, there is the Asahikawa City Subway Station and a depot for local buses and cabs, making it convenient for travel to all parts of the city. There is also an airport bus stop for smooth access from New Chitose Airport.
